So you want to add a photo to your online profile or send one as an email attachment but are not sure how.

If you want to use these pictures on the Internet, ask them to scan in low resolution to keep the files sizes small.
Ok so now you have the photo’s you like on your computer, how do you upload them to the Internet?
The first thing you need to know is that, photos taken with a digital camera or scanned images may be too large to upload to the Internet or send by email. If the file is too large it would either take to long to upload or it will take too long the other end to download.
So firstly you need to convert any larger photos to a smaller file size.
How do you do that?
You can use a photo editor, if you have a digital camera, scanner or web cam, you will probably already have some type of basic photo editing software that came with them. Each software is different so you may need to read the help files included with it, you need to reduce the photo to lower resolution, to get a smaller file size. The ideal file size is less than 1 megabyte for email or 512kb for many of the line profiles you may wish to add pictures too. To check the size of a picture right click on the icon for it and select properties, you will now be able to see the size in Mb or Kb of that picture. Cropping pictures to remove unwanted backgrounds/borders can also help reduce file size.

Ok so now you have your pictures and they are correctly sized and ready to send over the internet.

Now, how you send them.
Its really easy, lets start with uploading them to a webpage, for instance our adult contacts site. Depending on the site there will be a button click to add a photo or file, click it, you should now be presented with a button that will usualy say Browse,Search or sometimes examine. Find this button and click it, this will open the search box for your computer. It shows your drives,desktop and my documents folder.
What you need to do is find the folder that contains your picture. So for instance, if your pictures are in My pictures, you need to double click the my documents folder, this will expand the list, you should now see the My pictures folder, double click on that and it will expand to show your picture files. It won't always show the actual pictures but you will have a list of small icons with the names of each picture, double click the one you wish to insert.
You will then have to click the button that normaly says, Upload file or send file. Click it only once and wait a short while, depending on your internet connection speed it may take a couple of minuets to upload the photo.

Now, sending by email.

Those of you using Hotmail, Yahoo mail, or any email that you log into through a web page, this is called web mail. Open your mail programme and click to create a new mail, put in the email address of the person you are sending to and then look for the button that says attach or attach file, sometimes it is symbolized by an image of a paper clip. When you click it you are then presented with a box to browse your computer. It shows your drives, desktop and my documents folder.
What you need to do is find the folder that contains your picture. So for instance, if your pictures are in my pictures, you need to double click the documents folder, this will expand the list, you should now see the My pictures folder, double click on that and it will expand to show your picture files.
